Welcome to my blog. It was initially created in 2012 to post music I recorded. I posted a few quick experiments in 2013 and never posted music again, though I did record more. Since I already owned lots of boats and outboard motors, I decided to post about boats, ATVs and snowmobiles. I posted a few snowmobile photos and then nothing until 2025. Since I planned to sell my cottage and move south, I started selling all my boats and motors and switched to Radio Control vehicles in early 2024. In February 2025 I started collecting 1:64 scale diecast vehicles and decided to catalogue them on this blog...may you find freedom in my toys!

Traxxas 1:18: TRX-4M Land Rover Defender 110

Bought this in February 2024, about a month after buying my first real hobby grade 1:10 scale RC crawler. It was winter and I thought a smaller one would be good indoors. It is also the first RC I started modifying. I was too afraid to mess with the bigger expensive vehicle and found the parts more expensive. Start small.

This is heavily modified with Injora metal parts. The chasis is an aluminum LCG (low centre of gravity); the first RC I have done this modification to. I think only the body, electronics and motor are original.

Eventually I would like to add a brushless motor.

WPL 1:16: C24-1

I bought this RC in the Spring of 2024 because it was cheap and the body is very scale. I love Toyotas from this era. It is barely hobby grade, but is definitely a toy you can modify.

The RC is largely crap. I have added new axles, wheels, tires and other metal bits. Aftermarket parts for these are from dubious companies and require a lot of finessing. I am considering just putting the body on a better chasis from a better company...my only shelf queen.

FMS 1:18: FCX18 LC80 Toyota Land Cruiser 80

These 1:18 crawlers from FMS are great out of the box. I did add new wheels, tires, metal drive shafts, axles and metal bumpers.

This is the first small scale RC I bought back in February 2024.

Axial SCX24 1:24: 1967 Chevrolet C10 4X4

My first Axial and my first 1:24 scale RC. Purchased in Fall 2024.

Modded with mostly Injora metal parts, servo, wheels and tires along with Treal metal bumpers.

I plan to go with a brushless motor eventually.

I bought this to both see if I like 1:24 scale and Axial. If i get another SCX24, I would build it from scratch rather than modding a RTR (ready-to-run). I do want an Axial SCX10 III one day.

M2 Machines 1:64: Belly Tanker Edelbrock

A Belly Tanker Racer is a car with a streamlined body but with four exposed wheels. It is most often made out of a modified aircraft drop tank. The main attraction is the drop tank's excellent aerodynamics due to it being streamlined for its original use on aircraft. Building Belly Tankers became popular after World War II when surplus drop tanks were available cheaply.

M2 Machines: 1932 Ford Roadster

The term 1932 Ford may refer to three models of automobile produced by Ford Motors between 1932 and 1934: the Model B, the Model 18, and the Model 40. These succeeded the Model A. The Model B had an updated four-cylinder engine and was available from 1932 to 1934. The Model 18 was the first Ford fitted with the flathead V-8, and it was available in the Model 40 too in 1933 and 1934. The company also replaced the Model AA truck with the Model BB, available with either the four- or eight-cylinder engine.

The three car models were replaced by the streamlined Model 48 in 1935 which used the same chassis as its predecessor. The 1937 Ford would be the last to use the old 1932 chassis until 1940 when the car line of Ford was completely redesigned.

M2 Machines 1:64: 1968 Mercury Cougar R Code

The Mercury Cougar is a series of automobiles that was sold by Mercury from 1967 to 2002. The model line is a diverse series of vehicles; though the Cougar nameplate is most commonly associated with two-door coupes, at various stages in its production, the model also was offered as a convertible and a hatchback. During its production as the mid-size Mercury line, the Cougar was also offered as a four-door sedan and five-door station wagon.

In production for 34 years across eight generations (skipping the 1998 model year), the Cougar is second only to the Grand Marquis (36 years) in the Mercury line for production longevity. 2,972,784 examples were produced, making it the highest-selling Mercury vehicle. During the 1970s and 1980s, the marketing of the Mercury division was closely associated with the Cougar, with promotional materials advertising Mercury dealers as "The Sign of the Cat" with big cats atop Lincoln-Mercury dealer signs. Cat-related nameplates were adopted by other Mercury lines, including the Bobcat and Lynx.

During its production, the Cougar was assembled at the Dearborn Assembly Plant (part of the Ford River Rouge Complex) in Dearborn, Michigan from 1967 until 1973, San Jose Assembly (Milpitas, California) from 1968 into early 1969, Lorain Assembly (Lorain, Ohio) from 1974 until 1997, and at Flat Rock Assembly (Flat Rock, Michigan) from 1999 through 2002.

M2 Machines 1:64: 1969 Chevrolet C30 Dually Wrecker Tow Truck

The Chevrolet C/K is a series of trucks that was manufactured by General Motors from the 1960 to 2002 model years. Marketed by both the Chevrolet and GMC divisions, the C/K series encompassed a wide range of vehicles. While most commonly associated with pickup trucks, the model line also included chassis-cab trucks and medium-duty trucks and served as the basis for GM full-size SUVs. Through its entire production, the model line competed directly against the Ford F-Series and the Dodge D series (later the Dodge Ram pickup).

Used for both the model branding and the internal model code, "C" denoted two-wheel drive, while "K" denoted four-wheel drive. Four generations of the C/K series were produced, including the GM monikered second-generation "Action Line" and third-generation "Rounded Line" vehicles (colloquially aka Square-Body trucks). For the fourth-generation (colloquially also known as OBS trucks), Chevrolet kept using the C/K designation while GMC revised its branding, changing to a singular GMC Sierra nameplate (C/K remained as an internal model code).

For South America, the model line was manufactured by General Motors de Argentina from 1960 to 1978, Sevel Argentina from 1986 to 1991, and General Motors Brazil, who produced versions of the model line for Brazil, Argentina, and Chile from 1964 to 2001.

As GM entered the 1990s, the company revised its truck ranges, replacing the medium-duty C/K trucks with the Chevrolet Kodiak/GMC TopKick for 1990. For 1999, GM replaced the fourth-generation C/K pickup trucks with an all-new model line; in line with GMC, Chevrolet dropped the C/K nameplate (in favor of a singular Chevrolet Silverado nameplate). Initially marketed with its successor, the final C/K pickup trucks were produced for the 2000 model year. From 2001 to 2002, the final vehicles of the C/K model line were medium-duty chassis cab trucks.

Maisto 1:64: Lamborghini Sián FKP 37

The Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 is a limited production mid-engine hybrid sports car produced by the Italian automotive manufacturer Lamborghini (Production: 2020-2022). Unveiled online on 3 September 2019, the Sián is the first hybrid production vehicle produced by the company.

The name Sián comes from the Bolognese dialect of Emilian language siån, which means a flash of lightning (shine). The name was selected to highlight the fact that the car is the first production vehicle produced by the company to include a hybrid supercapacitator component. The suffix FKP 37 is related to the initials and birth year of the late Volkswagen Group chairman Ferdinand Karl Piëch.
