Decided to prime. It has been sitting for six weeks and the ugliness of the old paint job was not motivating me. But, it cooled off a lot yesterday and today, so it seemed the perfect time (been enjoying the summer outdoors as much as possible).
I haven't painted anything like this before and haven't used spray-paint much or in a long time. Fundamentally this is a test. Also, I always planned on two coats; thus this is a learning experience and will take care of the initial flaws...after the fiber-glassing is complete.
I have two primers. Turns out the "Rust" one is meant for model tanks!! Learning.
Added the blue that the deck will be also.
Added white. The helmets will be the same blue as the deck will be. The "windshield" will be black along with the helmet visors. The hull will be the same white accents in the above photos. The white paint was twice as thick and twice the pressure. Also, because it was getting dark, I sprayed too much blue. So lots of bubbling. Learning experience!
Quick prime of the hull (will be white). Transom not primed, as I still need to fiberglass the holes from the old inboard so I can make this an outboard.
