FreedomSeeker4U: 1:64 Diorama Build

Welcome to my blog. It was initially created in 2012 to post music I recorded. I posted a few quick experiments in 2013 and never posted music again, though I did record more. Since I already owned lots of boats and outboard motors, I decided to post about boats, ATVs and snowmobiles. I posted a few snowmobile photos and then nothing until 2025. Since I planned to sell my cottage and move south, I started selling all my boats and motors and switched to Radio Control vehicles in early 2024. In February 2025 I started collecting 1:64 scale diecast vehicles and decided to catalogue them on this blog...may you find freedom in my toys!

1:64 Diorama Build

Since I have this wood box, I decided to try to build my first scratch-built diorama in it.

The model building was sourced from a hobby store that sold used HO Train scale buildings and this one looked the closest to 1:64. Cheap and I get to expand my painting experience!! It is unlikely this will be used with this diorama. It WILL likely be a temporary building until I build some.

The sheet of cork will be used for roads (painted gray).

I have the styrene for building. I plan on three buildings:

- Jay's Garage: an art deco style service centre

- Jay's Dive-In Restaurant: an art deco style drive-in diner

- Jay's Marina: will be on the water and the water will be on the right side.

I will probably wait until at least November to start; a cold months project.
